Circa il video, il frontman Justin Hawkins dichiara: “Dear People of the Internet. We have made this excellent video to distract you from the humdrum banality of existence. The video finds England’s most distinctive, multiple award-winning, platinum-selling rock gods performing ‘All The Pretty Girls’ along the beautifully overcast Cornish shoreline. They embrace the typical British summer by rocking out whilst playing tennis, going on a band banana boat ride, travelling on a tractor and even attempting guitar solos while surfing, amongst other suitably seaside-like japes.

“Pinewood Smile” riporta i Darkness sulle scene musicali in ottima forma, come dimostrano anche le date estive in apertura al tour mondiale dei Gun’S’Roses ed il più recente live italiano di luglio. Scritto a Putney, registrato in Cornovaglia e prodottto da Adrian Bushby (Grammy-Award winning producer, già al lavoro con Foo Fighters e Muse), il disco contiene tutti i tratti distintivi della musica dei Darkness, ma arricchito da una nuova linfa vitale che scorre nella band, che ha accolto a braccia aperte Rufus Tiger Taylor, nuovo membro alla batteria e seconda voce.
A supporto del nuovo album, un lungo tour invernale che vedrà The Darkness impegnati, per il momento, in ben 17 concerti in UK tra novembre e dicembre ed un tour europeo che porterà la band in Italia per 3 date a novembre.
